Pastor Jacob Tseko Mofokeng was born and raised in the Free State, Bethlehem. He was born-again 02 July 1986 (02 July - is the same day and month of his first birth) and was baptised at Show-Tell Bible Church under the leadership of the then Pastor Simon Mokoena. Pastor Mofokeng has been married to his wife Jeanett Malerato Mofokeng since April 4th of 1992. This union has produced two wonderful children named Lerato and Tumisang.
Immediately after he became a born-again Christian he sensed a call of God on his life and began preaching and witnessing at his high school, Dikwena Senior Secondary School, in Qwaqwa as well as surrounding high schools. He was involved in the establishments and maintenance of the Christian structures at schools, namely the Student Christian Movement and coordination of youth camps. He struggled for years to respond to the full-time calling. Although there were many aspects of serving in full-time ministry that he holds dear to his heart, there were things that he witnessed along the way that made him to be sceptic about full-time ministry. Amongst others, things such as the wellbeing of the pastoral families and workload pastors subjected to.
Nevertheless, Pastor Mofokeng before he could respond to his calling, he was also faithfully and actively involved in the local assembly serving in ministry of helps. He served in various leadership positions amongst others such as; youth, track ministry, home cell and was also a Church Board member for many years at Show-Tell Bible Church until he changed his membership due to relocation. Pastor Mofokeng served in the Department of Education and Training as a part-time teacher for 4 years and later employed within the South African Police Service (SAPS) for a total of 10 years. He resigned from the SAPS as a Lieutenant-Colonel and on July 1st 2007 he joined the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). He is currently an Associate Professor and is in possession of a Baccalaureus Technologiae (B-Tech) Business Information Systems and a PHD in Policing.
In December 2012 he also completed his Bachelor degree in Ministry with the Impact Christian University and was ordained in the same month at Joy Ministry, Germiston. During January 2013, after serving at Doxa Deo Inner-city Campus in the ministry of helps for years, He and his family moved their membership to FGT where he serves as an Associate Pastor under the leadership of the Visionary Leader, Minister Lemon Phiri. Pastor Mofokeng considers himself as a continuous learner and reflecting upon his life, he thinks there are several factors responsible for his continuous growth: the call and purpose of God for his life and family; strong support structure within the family and fervent prayer, his burning desire to develop others and most important, the grace of God. His personal motto is: "I am a witness for Jesus Christ but I lecture to pay expenses."
